I've tested the new home media player playTIME HV0109, that Swedish Valei Computer says is the same player as the new HV0105 but vertical instead of horizontal. On the package it says HV0109, so I've decided to write both model names.

All media files I've tried to play on it has worked perfectly. Full DVD from a folder, DVD ISO, MPEG4 files (Xvid, Divx), VCD, SVCD, MP3 and OGG vorbis files.

With the DVI (and the HDMI adapter that comes in the package) port, you can play movies in the HD resolutions 1080i, 720p and 480p. I've tested some movies in 720p and it worked perfectly.

Subtitles in the formats SMI, SRT and SUB also worked, and you can resize, sync and move them.

One of the greatest things with the playTIME HV0109 (HV0105) is that you can use external hard drives with the the two USB 2.0 ports, instead of an internal SATA drive. That way the player get's even quieter. I connected two external Maxtor hard drives for this test.

Another cool feature is the built-in Wifi, with which you can play media files from you home network.

Everything else such as playing music and watch photos worked great too, but the HV0109 / HV0105 can only play MP3 files with a Max bitrate of 192 Kbit/s, so most of the CD's I've made to MP3 didn't work because they have a bitrate of 320 Kbit/s (Max bitrate for MP3). Below 192 kbit/s works great though.

The remote control that's included in the box, feels good and has a good working area.

I have no price information yet, so It's hard to compare with other media players, but Swedish Valei Computers playTIME HV0109 / HV0105 home media player is highly recommended by me.
