Nokia officially unveils the Nokia N96, a "multimedia computer" truly optimized for video and TV.
Like a high-end PMP with MPEG-4, WMV9 (Windows Media), Flash Video, H.264 video, MP3, AAC, eAAC+ and WMA file support. Plus DVB-H TV and FM radio with RDS. Powered by the S60 3rd edition, feature pack 2 OS.
Looks like a pure "Mega Phone" from Nokia. Too bad the big display only have QVGA resolution.
The N96 also features a 2.8-inch QVGA (240 x 320 pixels) LCD TFT display, 5 megapixel camera with Carl Zeiss Tessar lens, Auto-focus, auto-exposure, Dual-LED camera flash, video light, a VGA (640 x 480 pixels) secondary camera, Video capture in MPEG-4 up to VGA at 30 fps, Digital Video Stabilization, Built-in GPS receiver, support for assisted GPS (A-GPS), photo tagging, Easy-to-use email, Nokia Web Browser, 128MB RAM, 256MB system memory, 16GB internal flash memory, plus microSD memory card slot, WiFi, 3.5mm stereo headset, DVB-H based mobile TV with internal antenna, TV-out support, Hi-Speed USB 2.0 with Micro USB, Bluetooth 2.0 with A2DP stereo audio and Enhanced Data Rates (EDR) and supported networks are 3G/HSDPA and quad-band GSM/GPRS.
The dimensions of the phone is 103x55x18mm and the weight is 125 grams.
